Attitude was an SF fanzine, published between May 1994 and October 1997, by Michael Abbott, John Dallman, and Pam Wells, and an SF convention, run in February 1997 by Michael Abbott, David T Cooper, Mike Scott, Martin Tudor and Pam Wells. We were nothing to do with attitude the British lifestyle magazine or Attitude Online. If a search engine brought you here and you wanted them, click on their names for links.

Attitude had a circulation of around 350 copies per issue, and was available for “the usual” — contribution, letter of comment, trade, or editorial whim. It won the Nova award for best Fanzine at Novacon 25 in 1995, and was nominated for the Hugo award for Best Fanzine of 1995 and 1997 without winning.

These are archives. The issues are presented here as they were written, as things that belong to that time. Many of the people whose name and addresses you'll find in them have moved, and some have died. The Archives

Each issue can be downloaded as one or more Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) files. If you don't have an Adobe Acrobat viewer program, you can download it for free from Adobe's website. To keep search engines out of the text, and to keep this from being part of the web, rather than merely obtainable via the web — if we did that, we'd feel honour-bound to ask every single contributor for permission to re-publish in a different form — the files are compressed using the widely-used ZIP format, and protected with a password. The password is “Attitude”, in exactly that mixture of upper and lower case letters. If you don't have a program for reading ZIP files, we recommend the freeware InfoZip, or the shareware WinZip for a glossier Windows user interface.
