APPARATCHIK is the pachycephaloslsaurus reinheimeri of fandom, a puzzling and long-extinct herbivorous creature known only from one or two examples of its strangely knobbed and squamous skull. Little is known of its body, but scientists speculate that it looked a little like Clint Howard, or possibly Newt Gingrich.
